Supporting Our Community
Collins & Sons understands we have a role to play in the communities we work in. Where we're awarded projects, we employ locally, use local subcontractors, suppliers and accommodation wherever possible — keeping money in the local economy and supporting the businesses around us.
We work at grassroots level with sports clubs, schools and not-for-profit organisations. It's how we've always operated, and it's something we're proud of.
Our Commitments
Through active participation and listening, we identify what matters locally. We've partnered with sporting groups to promote teamwork and youth development — values that sit at the heart of the Collins & Sons family.
We back local sports clubs, schools and charitable groups across Cambridge and the Waikato. By engaging at the grassroots level we help empower kids and communities to reach their potential.
We actively direct a share of our project budget back into the local economy — through local suppliers, subcontractors and employment. We also seek out permanent and project-based employment for community members wherever we can.

During enabling works on the Te Rahui solar farm, we partnered with Rangitāiki School to purchase Chromebooks — while hiring locally and supporting the wider community throughout the project.

Our ongoing partnership with Leamington Rugby Sports Club helps fund junior development programmes and keep the game alive at community level in Cambridge as well as sponsorship for Jerseys and the famous Annual Leamington Fishing competition!
